It was a difficult away game for Real Betis as they travelled to Estadio El Sadar and at the end of the day it was a turgid draw that saw both teams, Osasuna and Real Betis, share the spoils.
The visitors got the first breakthrough when their striker, Ruben http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Castro-c8590, scored a cracker in the 15th minute of the game which was immediately disallowed by the referee for offside.
The striker believes his disallowed goal against the struggling Osasuna should have stood and the 31-year old believes the referee took the wrong decision and insisted his goal was not offside as he was in line with the defender.
He also commented on the great opportunity he missed in the second period that could have given his side the breakthrough they needed.
“I think that for my disallowed goal I was in line with the defender. For the second one I controlled the ball well but it didn’t go where I thought it would.”
Nonetheless, he praised the attitude of his teammates and admitted the draw was not a bad result for his team as it was a difficult game for them at a very difficult ground.
“However, a point was very good because it was earned at a very difficult ground to come to and our attitude was really good.”
It was a feeling that was shared by his teammate and goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adrián-c3701, who saw the positives of the match and how the clean sheet is very important for the team.
“This place is very, very tough to play at because the fans carry their team along, but it was important to finish the match with a clean sheet.”
Finally, Real Betis coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670 Mel, was also pleased with the goalless draw and feels that it was the right result for both the teams.
“We played well in the first half, and had some clear chances. I'm satisfied with my team.”
Real Betis are currently in the 5th position on the table standings. They will host http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 in their next Primera Division match on Saturday, October 27.
