Ruben Patterson, Charles Smith - Most infamous arrests series - NBA Feature (Part-3)

Ruben Patterson:
Former NBA player Ruben Patterson has been involved in many reprehensible accounts and arrested over those acts. His entire professional basketball career was marked with those disgraceful acts.
Ruben Patterson spent almost eleven years in the league and played for six NBA teams. He also played for two overseas teams in Lebanon and Greece. He made his way in the NBA in 1998 when the Los Angeles Lakers drafted him second
overall in the 2nd round of NBA draft. He then went on to play for the Lakers, the Seattle Super Sonics, Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Los Angeles Clippers.
The first facet of his controversial personality was exposed to the media when he registered himself in the United States of America as a s*x Offender. His registration as a s*x offender had a background as he was accused of raping
a nanny in 2000.
Later, Patterson was involved in misdemeanour assault over a man who scratched his car in Cleveland. His actions were investigated and he was arrested by the police in 2001. The next year brought more humiliation for him as he
was involved in a domestic abuse with his wife and was arrested by the authorities. Patterson was also involved in several DUI cases and altercations.
Charles Smith:
The former Boston Celtics guard Charles Smith was also involved in several arrests and convictions in his professional basketball career. During his tenure at the Celtics, he was involved in many Driving under Influence (DUIs)
offences. His major offence involved an incident in which he killed two students under his car. He was too drunk when his car hit those two students in Boston’s suburb. He was charged with vehicular manslaughter. However, Smith 24 at that time was consequently
acquitted of the serious charge of manslaughter and was sentenced to only four years in jail on account of drunk driving.
He was a standout player at Georgetown, but went undrafted in 1989. He however made his way in the league and played for the Boston Celtics and the Minnesota Timberwolves. In fact, when the incident happened, Smith was on a 10-day
contract with the C’s.
On October 21, 2010, Smith was shot in Maryland under dubious circumstances as the police found huge stash of drugs at the scene of incident, the next day.
