Rubens Barrichello: Williams have to find causes of a disappointing 2011 Formula 1 season so far
Williams’ driver Rubens Barrichello has said that his team needs to find out the causes of their disappointing 2011 Formula 1 season so far.
The team is still unable to perform well in the ongoing season. Williams are at the ninth place with only four points in the 2011 championship battle at the moment. The Grove-based outfit received four points from Barrichello in the Monaco and Canadian Grands
Prix. However, the Brazilian stated that his team has to find the ‘root’ of the problem.
He added that he is sure the FW33 car has some problem and due to that, they could not make improvements in terms of performance during their races.
Talking to reporters, Barrichello said, “It's not a lack of effort that Williams isn't bringing new things. They are bringing loads of new things, but they are not working. Last year some of them did work and then our year improved so much. Right now, we
are trying new stuff and not feeling that it's getting there.”
The 39-year-old driver further mentioned that if the team does not bring changes in their car, they cannot improve during their races in the second part of the season.
He told the media that Williams technical director Sam Michael is busy working on their current car and trying to fix all issues. In addition, he stated that the team is also working on the development of their 2012 car.
He went on to mention, “We have Mike Coughlan working on next year and Sam is being paid already so we might as well use him to do something for this year. In that respect we are quite lucky. We just need to improve the d**n car.”
Apart from that, Barrichello discussed that he wants to carry on racing in Formula 1 and perform well for his career in the sport.
Let’s see how Williams perform in the rest of the 2011 Formula 1 season after fixing all those issues which they have from the start of the season.
