  1. I do hope he does, with all my heart!

He's a terrific driver and he never gives up,does he?He's got such a strong determination.Too bad he's in a slower car these days..wish he were still with Ferrari...But then again,I'm happy he's still there at all!

    Wishing him Luck!

  2. I really hope he does get to 300. There is no reason why he can't manage it, he is still young enough to do it. He obviously still loves the sport, judging from the interview on ITV before the race it doesn't sound like he is anywhere near ready to hang up his helmet yet.

He is such a lovely guy, one of my favourites. Here's hoping he gets the 300!

  3. He is one of the nicest blokes in F1. I love his emotion on the podium, especially when he was 2nd at Monaco in 97 and when he had his 1st win at Hungary 00.

Good luck to him, hope he has a chance to shine along with Button in a better car next season!

  4. I hope so. He is such a lovely guy, and still seems to have a great passion for racing.

  5. i hope he does =)

maybe james allen can start talking about that instead of lewis most of the time ........

    lol =)

who gave me a thumbs down ? stupid haters !

  6. Well he would only have to do another 2 seasons after this one, which would make him 37 years old, so I dont see why not, even if it means driving for Force India

  7. As long as the passion and drive and determination are still there, he could go on to 400!

I like him, its a hard hearted sod who doesn't, and I wish him well for the rest of the season.

  8. he will stay in F1 as long as his body is able to race.

BTW Julian G, his first win in 2000 was in Germany, not Hungary.

  9. That means he'll have to be racing for another 3 years or so. I don't think he'll be around long enough to reach the 300 mark. He's getting older and might retire soon. He could just stay on though if he still feels like racing and if a contract is offered. However, that is quite unlikely. BUt at least he's beaten the 256 starts record held by Ricardo Patrese.

  10. Yes he will. That's about 2 seasons so I think he will.

  11. I would say that it has a lot to do with how well he continues to run against Button. As long as he can keep up and the team improves he will probably be given the chance. I think a lot of it has to do with Ross Braun. If Ross turns the team around and RB is still fast, he'll make it.

I hope that he does. I have been a huge Ferrari fan since the 80's and I always love to see the drivers that I followed do well, even after they leave.

  12. I hope so Val

that would be a great record

  13. He's a lovely bloke and I'm glad he's had a decent career...very much a modern Patrese or Laffite in many ways (although he's a lot more likeable than Laffite ever was...).

I don't think he'll get to 300 with Honda and I'm not sure he'd get a drive at any of the current teams when his Honda contract expires either. Maybe he's got enough left in the tank to move down the grid for another year or two IF Bernie manages to find one or two new teams for next season...

Anyway, by my reckoning he's still only at 255 starts (not having made it to the start line twice in 2002), so he'll break the record in Canada and probably finish at 268 in Brazil on November 2nd.

Whether he has the record already or he has to wait another month, it's still a great achievement to hold the record. I remember Laffite taking Graham Hill's record at Brands in 1986...that was his last race and it only lasted about 50m before he broke his legs in a startline accident. I also remember Patrese taking the record in Brazil in 1989, he actually led that race from the start before eventually retiring.

Ross Brawn's praise should be taken with a pinch of salt too...what is he supposed to say in mid-season: "He's doing ok, but he's getting on a bit and there are younger, cheaper, faster (Japanese or Honda-backed?) drivers on the market..." ?

  14. 300 is too far away.

And it's not some sort of milestone, just a stupid number, he's got the record and can take it a bit further, as much as he can.

I've always liked Barichello, very likable and a clean driver throughout his whole career, which is very impressive considering the level he's been competing at, so he deserves everything he's got.

I have to admit though that he does little to excite me anymore and I'd like to see some new blood, although, to be fair to him, Jenson who I rate as driver isn't really exciting in the Honda either.

The car's a dog, it's been a dog for some time now.

  15. Great guy.  But he's not faring well in the comparison with JB this year - when it comes to getting your contract renewed, your main competitor is your team mate.  Unless he gets on even terms with JB this season, he'll be replaced at the end of the season.  Honda love Sato.

DC faces a similar risk - though he went pretty well in Istanbul he was 0.2 seconds per lap shy of Webber.  Sutil looks to be heading for the chop too.

  16. he is such a nice person and is genuine. i hope he does.
