Rubens Barrichello looks forward to race in Brazilian Stock Cars – Formula 1 news
Former Formula 1 driver, Rubens Barrichello is looking forward to race in the 2013 Brazilian Stock Car V8 series after taking part in IndyCar for one year.
Barrichello secured 12th place finish in his debut season in IndyCar with his best performance at Sonoma in which he came 4th. However, he remained unable to gather the required financial support to stay in the series for second year.
He took part in 3 Brazilian Stock Car races towards the end of the year and is planning to race full time in the next season.
The Brazilian driver has expressed that he is feeling really excited about his plans to take part in the Stock Car Championship at his home. Furthermore, he said that he is eagerly waiting for the season to begin.
“I am excited to announce my plans to race for the 2013 Stock Car Championship in Brazil,” he said. “After my 20-plus years representing Brazil racing all over the world, it is time to come home.”
In addition, he said that it will be amazing for him to drive in his own country as he will get a chance to stay closer to his family.
“It will be amazing to race in my home country again, while allowing me to be closer to family,” he added.
It will be important to note that the 40-year-old is the most experienced driver in the history of F1 as he participated in 322 grands prix. He remained in F1 for 19 years and is the third highest point scorer in the history of the sport.
Besides, he started karting in Brazil in 1981. Additionally, he began his car racing career in Brazilian Formula Ford in 1989.
He is one of the most respected drivers in the sport and has achieved so much. Even though, he never won a championship, but he has always received a lot of admiration and honour from his fans.
It will be extremely thrilling to see how he performs in the Brazilian Stock Car series in the next year and whether he will be able to come up to the expectations of his fans or not.
