Rubens Barrichello not worried about his future with Williams – Formula 1 news
Williams’ driver Rubens Barrichello has recently stated that he is not worried about his race seat at the team.
He further said that he is currently going through some discussions with the team regarding his contract extension these days.
“It's moving, but right now is the rumour time and my Twitter is just crazy with people saying things. I can't rely on other information and other drivers, I just rely on my information. Whenever I meet my family they ask me crazy things that they read in
the press, unfortunately,” Barrichello said when asked by GP Week about his negotiations for 2012.
He claims that these rumours are just a mere distraction for him as a result of which he is trying to avoid them and focus about his deal with the team for the future.
Rumours claim that Kimi Raikkonen and Adrian Sutil are next in line for a race seat at Williams and since the team is going through some major management changes in 2012, it is believed that their performance might also improve a lot.
Since the team has decided to make some major changes, Barrichello claims that he can be the experienced one who can help the team out during these tough times. This means that he is devoted to the team and does not want to leave them at least until the
end of next year.
“Unfortunately Williams haven't given me a good car yet. But moving forward means we should stick together and race with a better car next year. The fewer changes you make on the driver side the better the continuity, and I think a good example of that is
Ferrari,” he added.
The team is currently going through one of its toughest Formula 1 seasons and it is mainly because of the fact that the team has not been flourishing as a whole.
