Rubens Barrichello predicting an enhanced performance from Williams in 2012 car – Formula 1 news
Rubens Barrichello is predicting that the 2012 version of the Williams car will increase their performance considerably.
Williams’ driver Barrichello made the comment at the backdrop of a poor season, which meant one of the poorest seasons for the team as well. The veteran driver has so far only been able to score four points out of the five points Williams have managed.
Although the extensive changes in the team have to be put in perspective as well with the major one being the departure of technical director Sam Michael.
Barrichello though says that now that the team has put everything behind it, and is going to start afresh from next season in 2012, it will make a big step forward in performance coupled with the new Renault engines.
“Engine side, structure, new thinking, motivation, everything can be a big step next year,” Barrichello has been quoted by Autosport.com. “That is what I believe. I don't know if it is going to be a winning car but it will surely be a h**l of a lot better
car.”
“The problem this year was the leaving people until the others came in and that missing three to four months, that was no leadership at that time. Right now people are accommodating quite well, they have done everything they could to improve this car which
is a very bad one, so they are putting all the efforts on a new one,” he further added.
According to Barrichello, lack of leadership has been the main reason behind the poor showing of the team, and now that issue has been resolved, the team looks to improve their performance starting from the new 2012 season.
Barrichello is still unsure about his future at Williams, although he has shown that he is not worried about his future prospects citing the two-decade long experience in the game as sufficient criteria for him to be able to get a race seat. It remains to
be seen whether Barrichello will be part of the next Formula 1 season or not.
