Rubens Barrichello says Williams must make developments in FW33 – Formula 1 news
Williams’ driver Rubens Barrichello has said that his team will have to make developments in their FW33 car for their better results in the remainder of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
The team had a disappointing start in the ongoing season, as both of the drivers Barrichello and Pastor Maldonado were unable to perform well on the grid due to an unsupportive role of their cars.
In the 2011 German Grand Prix, the Grove-based outfit driver Barrichello retired from the race due to an oil leakage problem in his car. However, all those issues which the team had from the start of the season have been fixed before the Hungarian Grand
Prix.
The Brazilian took part in the morning Free Practice session of the Hungarian Grand Prix on July 29, 2011 in Budapest where he finished his practice run on the 14th place for his team.
After the morning Practice session in Hungary, the team driver stated that he still does not have a perfect car. In addition, he said that he is sure if team makes fundamental changes and developments in their car, they can take a step forward towards their
progress in the 2011 constructors’ championship.
Talking to reporters, Barrichello mentioned, “If we don't improve what is the fundamental problem – that we keep on testing, experimenting, back to back and things like this, we are going to score points but not in that range – unless we go to the Adelaide
type of race where there is a big bang, 15 cars go off and then you finish on the podium.”
He went on to say, “It is not a lack of effort, as Williams is bringing new things. They are bringing lots of new things but they are not working. Last year some of them did work and then effectively our year improved so much.”
After finishing his morning Practice run at the 14th place in Budapest, the 39-year-old driver is hoping for a progress in the afternoon Free Practice session at the Hungaroring race circuit on July 29, 2011. Let’s see how he fares in it.
