Rubiks cube question?

idk i was just wondering about this but here it is: if you have a 3x3 rubik's cube and a 4x4 rubik's cube, what color was added to the 4x4 one that wasn't on the 3x3 cube.?? Thx for the help !!!!!

A color wasn't added; rows were. It still has 6 sides to the cube, but instead of there being 9 cube faces on a certain side, there are 16.

You wouldn't need another color--there are still only six faces on the big cube, even if they are made up of 4x4 smaller cubes instead of 3x3.
