The Tatary managed to secure the European berth after winning the domestic cup last term and have been drawn against the Nerazzurri, Partizan and Neftchi in the group stages of the continental tournament.
Volzhane head coach, Kurban Berdyev, has expressed a sigh of relief as his side turned the tables to claim a big win on Sunday after a series of frustrating and disappointing results following a hectic schedule of matches.
However, Berdyev has now decided to unleash young players in their upcoming Russian Cup tie against FC Yenisey Krasnoyarsk at Central stadium on Wednesday.
The 60-year-old is set to rest senior members of the squad including http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vitali-Kaleshin-c36235 for the upcoming domestic cup match.
“We plan to give a rest to those who have recently played for the club and for their national teams. They have a tough schedule, and so these games will provide them a chance to relax. For us the Cup, the tournament is certainly
important. We intend to play seriously in the competition and go as far as possible.”
“There is no problem in the fact that the team has played a lot of games this month but this should not be any excuse. There are problems with the confidence in the team in general but we know how to switch from the tournament
to tournament.” The Russian Super Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Berdyev urged his side to win the next match against the Russian First Division team, and warned them against complacency.
