Rubin Kazan defender Salvatore Bocchetti's transfer to Juventus has hit the rocks despite his agents' recommendation.

Rubin Kazan have reportedly turned down a loan offer for their star defender, Salvatore Bocchetti, from Juventus FC.

Bocchetti, who joined the Kazan-based club during the 2010 transfer window for a reported 15 million Euros from Genoa CFC, had earlier expressed his desire to leave the Tsentralnyi Stadion during the winter transfer window.

"I'm fine at Rubin, I respect the club and manager - Italy however is my country. If a call came from a Serie A side I would consider it. Juventus and Napoli are both big clubs." Bocchetti was quoted as saying.

Bocchetti has had a wonderful debut Russian Premier League season with the Volzhane following his big-money move from the Italian outfit.

Juventus had failed to sign Bocchetti from Genoa during the last transfer window after the two clubs failed to agree on a transfer fee. However, the Turin club have now stepped up their interest in the promising defender during
this transfer window.

La Vecchia Signora have been shaky defensively, with Antonio Conte reported to be a long time admirer of the 25-year-old, and is keen to bolster his defensive ranks at the Juventus stadium.

But it looks like Fidanzata d'Italia have to go elsewhere in search of a defender, with the Kazan-based club having ruled out the sale.

If speculations are to be believed, Bocchetti’s agent, Andrea D'Amico, discussed his client’s future with the Kamni management but the management wanted a permanent solution.

“Bocchetti is young in age but he has a lot of experience and quality. He has maturity and a great capacity to adapt. He has the right personality to wear the great Juventus jersey.” D'Amico said.

The Volzhane were ready to sell their prized asset a month ago, on a permanent deal, but the likely departures of Cristian Ansaldi and Roman Sharonov have now stopped them from offloading any more of their defenders this transfer
window.

With Sharonov refusing to extend his stay with the Russian outfit, being in the last year of his contract, and Ansaldi keen to switch his current club after falling out with Kuban Berdyev, the Russian outfit is already short on
defenders.
