Spartak Moscow striker, Emmanuel Emenike, has claimed that he was the victim of a racial attack after a rival fan threw snow balls at him during the latest Russian Premier League tie against Dynamo Moscow at Arena Khimki.
Though the Myaso managed to win the encounter 3-1 on the away turf, Emenike is saddened by the racist attack. He urged the Russian Football Union to take serious notice of the growing racist situation in Russia by giving the examples
of Roberto Carlos and Christopher Samba.
Anzhi Makhachkala defender and legendary full-back, Carlos, was taunted by a rival fan after throwing a banana at him. The Brazilian stopper left the field in protest and considered retirement from professional football after the
incident.
Latest Anzhi signing, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christopher-Samba-c9212, is a victim of another racist attack. The Congolese defender was hit by a banana while he was on his way back to the dressing room after losing 1-0 against Lokomotiv Moscow.
Emenike revealed that he has never faced such a ridiculous situation during his professional football career. The Nigerian national revealed that he can understand the feelings experienced by Carlos and Samba.
Reflecting on the win, the former Fenerbahce player revealed that he is glad to score the opening goal of the match against the Dinamiki. He admitted that it was nice to score after 3 league games.
“I failed to score in the previous meetings against Anzhi and CSKA Moscow, so I really wanted to score against Dynamo in order not to break the tradition. I am glad that I did it, but more importantly, that Spartak managed to win
the derby.”
“We have played quality football and I think we pleased the fans with the way we played. There is still a long way to go but I can assure the fans of a decent spot at the end of the season.” The TFF First League winner was quoted
