Ruby Crown to excel in the Elite Racing Club Handicap Hurdle at Towcester on 8th April, 2012
Towcester will host the Elite Racing Club Handicap Hurdle today, 8th April, 2012. Fourteen runners will participate in this race, over 2 miles on a surface that has been labelled good.
Ruby Crown, the ten-year-old bay mare has the punters and the bettors excited as she will enter the race as a favourite with odds of 9 to 2.
Her previous victory took place in the Phoenix Security Handicap Hurdle at Sedgefield on 26th May, 2011, where she raced as a favourite with odds of 3 to 1. She was mounted by jockey Sean Quinlan, who led her to the victory over Prioryjo, by a

She stood third in the last race of 2011, at Ludlow. She missed the finish as a runner-up by 1 ½ lengths in the Tanners Cava Lady Amateur Riders' Handicap Hurdle on 21st December, 2011. She raced as a favourite with odds of 7 to 2 but fell short
of the expectations.
Trained by Kim Bailey for owner, I F W Buchan, the mare will be riding under jockey Jason Maguire in this race. The daughter of Rakaposhi King, out of Suilven was pulled up from the Chieftain Handicap Hurdle at Leicester on 10th January, 2012,
as she sustained an injury.
Meridiem, son of Tamure, out of Anatomic, triumphed in his most recent start. He raced as a favourite with odds of 7 to 2 in the Ladbrokescasino.com Handicap Hurdle at Towcester on 26th March, 2012.
Mounted by jockey Chris Honour, he led the jockey to the narrow victory by ½ length over Prize Fighter. This performance raised his esteem as he failed to impress in his previous race.
The Sean Regan trained eight-year-old gelding finished in ninth place in the Oddschecker.mobi Handicap Hurdle at Sedgefield on 4th March, 2012.
Midnight Spirit, son of Midnight Legend, out of mare West-Hatch-Spirit, bagged a victory in the Great Griffin Gallop Selling Handicap Hurdle at Towcester on 26th February, 2012.
He defeated My Viking Bay, by 3 ¾ lengths under jockey Hadden Frost. Racing at Towcester may be beneficial for him as he has raced on this track before.
It is speculated that Ruby Crown may emerge victorious from the race but it will not be an easy competition for her. The other participants are just as talented and will race with a motivation to the race.
Based on his previous performance, Midnight Spirit may finish as a runner-up, closely after Ruby Crown, whereas Meridiem might secure a finish in third place.
