Rude bill collectors??

Yesterday like a lot of days I got a call from Citi Bank telling me that they need a payment immediately. The girl on the phone asked me if I could pay it in full right now and when I started telling her about my current situation she just put me on hold without even telling me and while i was still talking some VERY rude guy picked up with the most attitude in a person that I have ever seen, bill collector or not, and started b.itching at me like crazy. Like I said I talk to collectors sometimes as much as 4 times a day but never EVER have I gotten such a rude person. After he completely dissed me and telling me that there are little old ladies in new orleans that make $50 a month and they can make payments. What is that?? Is he even allowed to say that to me? I understand they want their money but I have been out of work due to a medical condition since March of this year. I don't like using that as an excuse but it's just making it that much harder to find a job with my disability. Do I make sense feeling this way? Or am I just crazy? Anyone with information is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

  1. you don't have to take abuse on the phone, Hang up!

  2. Why answer the phone if you know it's them?

  3. You owe them money.  They can insult you, pressure you, and do a lot of things you don't like.  They cannot call you after 9 p.m.  Find a way to pay off your debts.

There are millions of people behind on bills, credit cards, mortgages, etc.  This load of debt is so bad that banks and other sorts of creditors must resort to more pressure to get people to pay or they are going out of business!  CitiBank is in bad shape, has already written down billions of bad mortgages and paper, and they need the money.  The people calling you are going to lose their jobs if they don't collect.  Tough times require tough people.  Toughen up.  Stop whining.  Get a job or find a way to make money and pay your living expenses and debts.

  4. These people are surely breaking the law.

You should be mad at them!  You should be madder at yourself for getting into this situation.

Adults plan their financial life.   They set aside money for emergencies. They save for the "extras" in life. They don't use a credit card unless they know they have the money already in the bank.

If some horror has come to your life..... adults call the credit company and make arrangements that work for everyone.

Take responsibility in your live.  This person was wrong. but... not as wrong as you!
