The Lille coach has praised the Bundesliga outfit ahead of Les Dogues’ Champions League clash against the Bavarians at Grand Stade Lille Metropole
The 2010/2011 champions of France are set to take on Jupp Heynckes’ side in their third game of the ongoing Champions League campaign. And coach, Rudi Garcia feels that Lille aren’t in the best of forms to take on the German giants.
Les Dogues have been struggling this season and have failed to rediscover their best form. And after losing the opening two games of the competition, Tuesday’s game against FC Hollywood holds extra significance for the French club.
Coach, Rudi Garcia knows that another defeat in the competition will kill Lille’s hopes of qualifying for the next round and the game against Bayern Munich is a must-win situation for his side.
While talking to reporters at a press conference, the 48-year-old stated that although Lille have been struggling this season, they will do everything they can in order to win on Tuesday. The coach added that everyone at the club is anxiously looking forward
to the game against the Bundesliga outfit and despite Lille being the underdogs; they will play with confidence on the pitch.
“We are all desperate to play this game, and we will do everything we can to try and win it, even if we know our chances are slim against a team like Bayern.”
Praising the opposing team, Rudi Garcia stated that Bayern Munich are a world class team, who have abundance of European experience under their belt.
“Bayern Munich are not just the group favourites, but also one of the biggest teams in Europe."
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich coach, Jupp Heynckes has praised Lille ahead of the Champions League clash on Tuesday and is expecting a stern test from the hosts. The coach said that despite LOSC's recent bad run of form, LOSC are one of the best sides in France
and are capable of defeating any team in the world on their day.
