The 48-year-old tactician feels that Lille are returning to their best form after the club from Northern France registered an impressive win over Montpellier Herault at Grand Stade Lille Metropole
The 2010/2011 champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 showed just why it would be foolish to write them off just yet as they cruised past a sorry looking Montpellier side. Although the reigning French champions were playing without several key players, Lille made it look so
easy and the 4-0 scoreline tells the story.
Coach, Rudi Garcia is pleased with his side’s performance on Saturday that took them to 7th in the league at the end of Week 19 with 29 points on the table.
While talking to reporters after the match, the Lille boss stated that Lille cannot afford to make any more mistakes in the wake of their poor start to the season. And the win on Saturday was a proof that players are serious about getting the campaign back
on track.
The coach added that every player played his part in the win against Montpellier on Saturday and the attitude of the players has pleased the boss to great extent.
“To get a good result and a good performance - because it is the performance that interests me - everybody needs to be just about at their best.”
However, the 48-year-old feels that Lille have the ability to do even better and has urged his side to do more in the future.
“That wasn't far from being the case tonight. I think we can do better.”
Talking about his side’s position in league standings, Garcia said that 29 points going into the winter break isn’t that bad and Les Dogues are in good position to get back into the top half of the table.
“We have 29 points, and that allows us to push back up into the top half of the table.”
The coach added that he is pleased with his side’s performances in the last few weeks and the need is to continue playing like that when the season restarts in 2013.
“We are not where we want to be. We will need to start 2013 like we have just finished 2012."
