The 48-year-old is pleased with Les Dogues’ second win of the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign, but admits that his side still needs to improve in order to get their campaign back on track
The 2010/2011 champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 haven’t started the season on a positive note and have struggled to find their best form this season.
With just 10 points on the table, Lille are 10th in the league and are trailing leaders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127, by 9 points. The win against Ajaccio was LOSC’s first at Grand Stade Lille Metropole, and coach, Rudi Garcia is hoping it to be the
start Lille needed to get their campaign back on track.
The former Le Mans coach stated that getting back to winning ways is pleasing and players deserve credit for playing without fear.
"We wanted to have that winning feeling again, and we've got it and I have to congratulate the squad, who worked well.”
The coach added that Lille played really well against Ajaccio at the weekend and they totally dominated the game from the very start. Players showed great commitment and they deserved to win.
However, Garcia feels that Les Dogues made several silly errors in the first half and they need to avoid making such mistakes if they want to achieve something this season.
“It was a game we rather dominated, though there were too many errors in the first half. Everyone was motivated, everyone showed desire.”
The coach feels that there is still room for improvement and has asked his players to show what they are capable of in the upcoming games.
“There are still things we have to improve, but finally we've shown a clinical streak, I hope it's the start of a run.”
Rudi Garcia revealed that he held talks with several players before the match and they were determined to turn things around.
“I talked to a lot of the players, and I found them to be determined to turn things round, I wasn't wrong. we can build on from here."
LOSC Lille will face Bordeaux on October 19, in their next game of the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign.
