Lille manager has admitted that the France international wishes to leave the club this summer with Newcastle United set to make a revised bid for the defender
The France right-back has attracted a lot of interest from host of top European clubs in recent times. The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan are keen to sign the player who impressed masses by his impressive showing at the European Championship.
Newcastle made a 5-million Euros bid for Debuchy last week but was rejected by Lille with the club terming the bid as an unacceptable. Les Dogues value their star man around 10 million Euros and are not willing to back-out from their demands.
According to English media, The Magpies have taken another step in their pursuit of the Frenchman and will make an improved offer of 7.5 million Euros for Debuchy.
However, Lille have made it clear that they want to hold onto the France first-choice right-back and will only allow Debuchy to leave on their own terms.
Lille boss Rudi Garcia told French sports radio station that LOSC will take a decision regarding Debuchy keeping the best interests of the club in mind. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathieu-Debuchy-c24682 will only be allowed to leave when a good replacement of the player is available.
“Mathieu wants to leave. But we had no plans for him to leave. He will only leave when I have found someone equally as good to replace him. And that will cost a lot of money.”
Rudi Garcia stated that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international has been one of the best players at the club and has been a key figure in Lille's success in recent time.
“Mathieu is one of my key players. He sets an example, a young man who has been brought up well and gives his all for the cause.”
However Lille would not stand in Debuchy’s way if he decides to leave. But Les Dogues would want right amount for the player and his departure heavily depends on how early Lille can find a suitable replacement for the 26-year-old defender.
Mathieu Debuchy made 32 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille last season and scored 4 goals in the process. The player is in the form of his life and any club will be lucky to have a player of his calibre in their ranks.
