While talking to reporters after Lille’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 on Sunday, the former Saint-Etienne coach stated that Les Dogues have improved a lot in recent months and they are now in a position to qualify for the Champions League.
The coach said that LOSC have played 14 games in the league so far and are 9th in the league. And the coach has urged his players to bring more improvement in order to achieve club’s objectives this season.
“We have played 14 games, and here we had the chance to get back into the top five but we are partly responsible for not taking that chance.”
Lack of goals is a worrying factor for Lille and Rudi Garcia has urged his players to be more clinical in front of goal.
“You cannot afford to have so many chances before you score a goal. None of our players are appearing at the top of the goalscoring charts. We are creating chances though so I'm sure the day will come when luck smiles on us.”
Talking about Sunday’s game, the 48-year-old said that it was a good performance from LOSC but unfortunately they couldn’t find the back of the net at Stade Velodrome. The coach added that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marvin-Martin-c24496 played really well for the visitors but was unlucky
as he couldn’t score against Marseille.
“(Marvin) Martin played some nice passes but unfortunately he couldn't convert the chance he had at the start of the game, but everyone played well this evening."
