Coach, Rudi Garcia, has expressed his delight at the way LOSC played on Saturday and players’ attitude is a pleasing factor for the Frenchman. While talking to reporters, the former Saint-Etienne coach stated that it was an impressive performance from Lille
and they deserved to win the game.
Praising his players, the 48-year-old said that the attitude of the players were phenomenal. They wanted to win the match and they proved it with their display on the pitch.
"The way we played in the first half was quite admirable and the players responded out on the pitch.”
After getting back to winning ways, Lille are getting closer to the podium and Garcia is hoping to carry on from here. The coach added that qualifying for the Champions League is club’s priority this season and they are in good position to achieve their
targets.
“In the league, that is three consecutive wins now, and that has allowed us to get closer to the European places again, which is more than important.”
The coach praised the supporters for backing the team through thick and thin and is looking forward to the upcoming games.
“The fans backed us right from the warm-up, and that was a strong sign. When you are not taking your chances and struggling to put the game to bed, you need to make sure you battle hard at the end of the game.”
