The LOSC Lille coach is delighted with the way Les Dogues performed on Tuesday to register a comfortable and much needed win against a high flying Toulouse side at Grand Stade Lille Metropole
The 2010/2011 champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 returned to winning ways in the Ligue 1 with an impressive performance at home to register their only sixth win of the ongoing season. The club from Northern France is currently 9th in the league with 25 points
on the table, but the way they have been performing lately, it is a good sign for a side considered by many as genuine title contenders.
Coach, Rudi Garcia is pleased with a win at home and has expressed his delight at the way his players performed on the pitch. While talking to reporters, the Frenchman state that it was essential for his side to get a positive result in the midweek after
their Champions League exit and some poor performance in the Ligue 1. And players did just that and the boss has praised the attitude of Lille’s players, who showed a great desire and determination against Alain Casanova’s side.
"In our hearts we wanted to get back to winning ways and kick off a run. I was pleased with the manner of the win.”
Talking about the match, Garcia said that Toulouse played a very attacking game and they made life difficult for LOSC on the pitch.
“Toulouse pressed high up the field and the pitch isn't yet exceptional for a short passing game. Payet was good, yes. You're always expecting talented players to be decisive.”
The boss added that it’s not true that Lille are struggling to get something out of set-pieces and feels that his side has the ability to use the dead-ball situations to their best use.
“We're not lacking arguments from set-pieces, as we've got good takers and players who are good in the air.”
Praising his players, the coach said that he is really happy to see his players play with such a desire to win and has urged them to continue playing like that in the future.
“I'm really pleased to have seen the players rewarded for their efforts."
