The Lille coach feels that Les Dogues were wasteful on several occasions against Bordeaux on Friday and had they taken those chances, the result would have been different
The 2010/2011 champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 managed to nick a draw at Stade Chaban Delmas last night, thanks to a well taken goal from Marko Basa in the closing stages of the game.
However, the Lille coach feels that his side was unlucky on the pitch and they could have won the match if things had gone their way last night.
While talking to reporters, the 48-year-old stated that Les Dogues didn’t play to their potential in the first half and they missed a number of chances. Garcia added that his side didn’t keep enough procession on the pitch and that cost them in the end.
Bordeaux scored from a counter attack in the first half, and the former Saint-Etienne coach feels that his side was unlucky to concede a goal in that manner.
“It wasn't too impressed with the content of our play - we wasted possession a bit and got hit on the counter in the first half as a result.”
Lamenting Lille’s slow pace, the coach said that the Mastiffs lacked fluidity and attacking flair and they wasted two golden goal-scoring opportunities in the first half.
“We lacked fluidity and attacking determination. The proof is there: there were two big chances in the first half, a bit like against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863, and the only one that was on target was Bordeaux's, and they took the lead.”
The coach added that his side has been really unlucky this season, and despite playing well, results aren’t going their way. However, the coach feels that Lille are getting back to their best and it won’t be long before Les Dogues start getting positive
results.
“Still, the point makes up a bit for all the times we've played well and haven't been rewarded. However, our luck is coming back and it’s a good sign.”
