Les Dogues coach is far from pleased with the way his players played against Rennes the other night as the 2010/2011 champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 crushed to a 2-0 defeat at Route de Lorient
LOSC Lille are now 13th in the league with just 7 seven points on the table. Defeat against Stade Rennais was their second of the campaign, but Lille have won only once this season while drawing the other 4 games.
And coach, Rudi Garcia has expressed his disappointment at his side’s failure to get something out of the game against Les Rouges et Noirs on Friday.
While talking to reporters, the 48-year-old stated that Lille were very unlucky in the game last night. Luck wasn’t with them and the situation is really disappointing for everyone at the club.
"It feels like we're cursed and luck is not with us at the moment.”
LOSC created a number of chances in the match but failed to find the back of net, and the coach has lamented the missed opportunities.
The former Dijon coach said that players did create few chances in the game, hitting the woodwork couple of times. However, that’s not enough and coach is unimpressed by his team’s showing against Frederic Antonetti’s side.
“We hit the post in the first half, the crossbar in the second half, two chances were there for us to take the lead, but it just wasn’t meant to be.”
Garcia admitted that Les Dogues were wasteful on several occasions and had they taken those chances, result would have been different.
"It's obviously not a good night for us. We played well but we didn't take our chances.”
The coach added that his players are lacking confidence at the moment and they failed to play their natural game against Rennes on Friday. In such games, margin of error is very little and Lille’s mistakes cost them three valuable points.
“In such games, you cannot afford to make such mistakes. When you don't score you become vulnerable, and that cost us the game and three points."
