LOSC Lille thrashed SC Bastia 3-0 in Coupe de la Ligue to book their place in the semi-finals, and the coach is hoping that the win will help Les Dogues in their upcoming games in Ligue 1 as well
The club from Northern France won comfortably at Stade Armand Cesari on Wednesday to advance in Coupe de la Ligue. LOSC showed just why they are still a force to reckon in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 despite some below par performances this season. And the coach, Rudi Garcia,
is hoping that the last night victory will help the players regain some confidence, and is expecting more of the same performance from his side in the Ligue 1 as well.
While talking to reporters after the match, the 48-year-old tactician stated that it feels good to be in the semi-finals of Coupe de la Ligue and Lille totally deserved to be here. They have been performing really well lately, especially in the cup competition,
and the coach is pleased with the way things are going for his side at the moment.
The former Saint-Etienne coach stated that the need is now to replicate this form in the league matches and is hoping for more of the same performance from Lille when they take on the same side in the Ligue 1 at the weekend.
"We're happy to have finished this run of four away games on the trot. Our record has been mixed, with two league losses but two wins in the cups [Champions League and Coupe de la Ligue]. It's a great result for what's to follow this season.”
Talking about Wednesday’s game, Garcia said that everything went right for Les Dogues last night and it’s a great sing for the club. Lille converted their chances and were rewarded for that in the end, and the coach feels that the need is to play with same
determination in the upcoming league matches.
“The ball seemed to want to go in for us tonight, which is great for the future because it has been a problem for us this season. We made the break at the right moment and then for once managed to stay solid when our opponents pushed us.”
