Rudy g*y, Josh Smith- Few trades that could happen once the NBA Lockout ends (Part 1)
The never ending NBA deadlock has adjourned the current trade bruit, but this does not mean that teams have changed their mind. They will be already planning their next move to make few adjustments in the team and as soon the deadlock
ends, discussions of bringing new roasters into team will heat up.
Last year’s trade period was the busiest in NBA history and this time it will be no different. in fact I expect it to be much more active this time around. Extended offseason has provided enough time to teams to brainstorm and
think of a new strategy that can make them flourish in the coming season. Trade off will definitely be a constituent of this strategy.
Last season saw some young players blossoming into great players. Team owners will be keeping an eye on them and when lockout ends, they will be trying to acquire them. Few trades that could happen after the lockout are:
Rudy g*y:
The 25 year old small forward from Memphis Grizzlies was sensational last season. g*y succeeded in making his place firm in the team as he was offered a five year extended contract which he buoyantly accepted.
Throughout the offseason, Cleveland Cavaliers had been trying to come up with a plan that will help them acquire Rudy g*y as Memphis have already made it official, they wont be keeping Rudy on auction. But Cavaliers will not give
up without a fight for sure.
While Cleveland have services of some brilliant players, and they also succeeded in acquiring Omri Casspi from Sacramento Kings just before the lockout, they still need to strengthen their team more to give themselves any chance
of winning the championship or coming close to it.
Cavaliers have young talent in abundance but now they are in need of an experienced player under whose umbrella, young player can blossom.
Josh Smith:
The 6 ft 9 forward from Atlanta Hawks, Josh makes excellent use of his height and his blocking and rebounding skills are as good as of one of the best in the business. The only problem about Josh is his consistency and lack of
competitiveness sometimes. His ability to carry the ball has also faded with time.
At times, he looks totally clueless on court and makes decisions that prove to be disastrous for the whole team. Its clear as a bell that Atlanta has got weary of Josh’s inconsistency with decision making on court and though he
is stupendously talented, but if Atlanta let him go, it will give AL Harford a chance to play at his natural forward position.
Bargaining Josh will give Atlanta financial elasticity and they can utilize it to acquire a solid centre for their team. Atlanta despite being an amazing team over the years has never been blessed with a capable centre.
Lamar Odom:
This probable exchange was the most talked about and educed austere reaction from both teams. Lamar Odom who plays as forward for Los Angeles Lakers has been with the team for seven years now. He is well settled in Lakers and might
not be as successful playing for Philadelphia 76ers so it’s definitely a risk if 76ers plan to acquire him.
Lakers on the other side would also be interested in a deal that would be angled at decreasing the budget rather than increasing it to give financial flaccidity to the team. It’s a big risk for both teams and if it does not work
out, it will be a disaster for both so I think this trade might not happen.
