Rudy g*y, Memphis Grizzlies and the next NBA season - NBA Feature
After getting picked up as 8th overall from the 2006 National Basketball Association Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies, small forward Rudy g*y really flourished as a player. g*y’s statistics after the rookie season improved
tremendously and his playing minutes increased from 27 to 37 on average after his rookie season.
However, g*y, who was going with a terrific scoring average of 19.8 points per game in the previous season after playing just 54 games and was close to touch his career-high 20.1 point score, was stopped in his strides due to a
serious shoulder injury.
This serious injury ended the 2010-11season for Rudy. However despite him being seriously injured, Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace awarded him with a big contract during the offseason. The reason behind offering this big
pact to the 25 year old was that Wallace believed like many other in the league that Rudy has yet to deliver his best.
With this new and big contract, the responsibility is now on the shoulders of Rudyto vindicate the decision of his team management.
The first step to attain this goal is to get fully hale and hearty and g*y has exactly done that. g*y suffered the injury back in February after which he went through a long healing process. It took him almost seven months to return
to the court and it is always difficult for any player, no matter how good he is, to make a comeback after the injury.
Nevertheless, it seems that luck hasn’t ran out for Rudy, as he got more time to get into shape after the league imposed the lockout on the players. g*y made the best use of the time and worked really hard through his treatment.
When his physicians allowed him to start training, g*y spent long hours in the gym and the moment g*y got the permission to take part in the real action, he tallied 17 points along with 12 boards and seven assists during an Impact
Basketball game.
g*y looked bit rusty in that game , but it was obvious as he was playing after a long break. In the next two charity games, g*y scored at an average of 41.5 points per game.
In addition to that g*y’s career record also proves that he have a great tendency to evolve, as he not only improved his scoring average from 10.6 to 20.1 points per game in his second season, but also enhanced his shooting from
the field goal region from 0.422 to 0.461.
g*y has shown that he is coming back strong from the injury, but he still needs to affirm that he is worthy of the big contract, the Grizzlies have awarded him. If he manages to do that, rest assured that the Grizzlies will be
a force to be reckoned with next season, whenever it starts.
