Rudy g*y fancies Memphis Grizzlies chances of having a deep run in the playoffs – NBA Update
The Memphis Grizzlies clinched their second playoff berth in consecutive seasons after a win over New Orleans Hornets Wednesday night.
Last year, the Grizzlies made it into the playoffs as the underdog team but shocked the whole world when they defeated the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs and then stretched the Oklahoma City Thunder till the
game seven in the Conference Semifinals.
Memphis star forward Rudy g*y was, however, on the sidelines and not able to contribute to the party. An injury to his shoulder kept him out of the playoffs last season and nearly half of the regualr season. He had to sit on the
bench and cheer for his team as they turned heads and made headlines with their amazing run.
It must have been frustrating and no matter how much he was thrilled by the performance of his team, g*y must have felt helpless and yearning to be on that court.
‘I might as well have bought a ticket last year. That’s the honest truth’ said g*y referring to last year’s playoffs.
This year however, Rudy has different plans in mind as he looks towards the playoffs. Having missed out on the opportunity last year, he wants it more than anyone else and knows what it means.
“This is why you play. We know where we’re going to be in two weeks. We don’t take that for granted at all,” said g*y.
Rudy g*y is leading his team into the playoffs this year, as their star player and go-to guy. This season, he is averaging 19.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He has a field goal percentage of 45.3% to go with the
numbers. In his last three games, g*y has scored 26, 28 and 24 points respectively. He is carrying this team on his shoulders, leading from the front.
“Rudy has been fabulous, He’s rebounded, he’s defended, he’s passed the ball and made plays for other people and scored” said coach Lionel Hollins.
g*y leads his team into the playoffs this season not as an underdog or a dark horse like last year, but a genuine title contender and one of the most feared teams in the Western Conference. Their energy levels and grinding style
of play will be a tough challenge for any team and the team is slated to make some deep inroads this time around. The Grizzlies are perhaps the deepest team from the West and the shortened season means their physical superiority will matter a lot in the playoffs.
Coach Hollins also believes so
“As I told the team, it’s a wide-open season. It’s wide-open for anybody to win the championship” said Hollins.
When asked about the chances of Memphis in the playoffs this season, Ray said that “the sky is the limit” for them. How well they fare once the playoffs start, only time will tell.
