Rudy g*y rearing for a return to basketball action – NBA Update
Memphis Grizzlies small forward Rudy g*y suffered a serious injury in the middle of last season which kept him out for the remaining stretch.
Initially, there were fears that g*y’s career could be over due to the shoulder injury but the star persevered and now finds himself on the brink of a return, which has him really exciting and raring to go.
The Grizzlies man took to the court recently in an exhibition game and came out unscathed. He doesn’t believe that he is ready for the hardcore NBA action just yet, but he has taken a step in the right direction.
“I was excited and kind of had to crash. I got real tired, and right now I’m working myself back. I wasn’t able to do anything for seven months.” g*y said, according to Grantland.
The injury forced g*y to miss the most extra ordinary playoffs journey; his franchise came up with last season. That run finally ended when Oklahoma City Thunder got the better of the grizzlies in game-7 of the Western Conference
Semifinal series. Had g*y been there, things might have been a bit different.
However, the Grizzlies will be pleased to have their star player back after an injury which many analysts deemed as career threatening. The player himself didn’t notice how serious things were when he first got injured.
“When it first happened, I thought I could just pop the shoulder back in and go out and play. I found out the severity of the injury the next day when I went in and got my MRI.” He said.
It was therefore understandable that g*y would feel a little apprehensive when going back on the court again. It always is, when a player returns from a long term injury, and g*y was no different.
“I was nervous a little bit. I don’t even know why I was so nervous. I had just got clear and probably did a little bit more than I was supposed to do in the first place. But I was nervous and trying to go out there and make every
shot, but obviously I knew that wasn’t going to happen.” Rudy said, describing his first foray back onto the court.
When on song, Rudy is an inspiring player and a dangerous scorer from both inside the paint and outside of it. In the games that g*y did play last season, his numbers were consistent and high, and Memphis fans could be forgiven
for thinking that the Grizzlies could have gone deeper into the playoffs had he been fit.
They can now look forward to his return on the court alongside Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol, both of whom took additional responsibility in his absence and shone in the NBA playoffs.
