Rug for girl nursery?

Question

I am looking for a pink rug, 5x8 rectangle. I love the ones at Pottery Barn and Land of nod, they are simple but too pricey. Any suggestions?

Try Home Depot or other home improvement stores, they may have remnants of carpet or even rugs.  Try carpet warehouses and see if you can get a left over piece of pink carpeting cut into the size you need.  It's cheap because it's too small to be installed in a room.

rugs are expensive, but since it's back to school time, you may be able to find sales on pink "dorm" rugs at stores like the ones above or at Bed, bath and beyond kind of stores

maybe try craigslist, ebay, or overstock.com

You would be very lucky to find one under three hundred dollars (and that's expensive to me!)  at either of those stores unless you found one on closeout or end of season discount.  There are cute kids rugs on overstock or sometimes the rugs that match girls bedding sets are less expensive.

Another option might be faux fur or flokati if you could find one in the right colors and they are so easy to wash!  The area carpets that I saw in PB would have to be spot treated for stains and I just don't like to expose my children to those chemicals when I don't have to.

They have some really nice pink rugs at Walmart.  I just saw one yesterday.  Its in the bedding section with the adolescent girl stuff like pink lamps and pink curtains.
