Rugby 08 problems.?

I have rugby 08 on playstation 2. I started a world league with the chiefs. I had created two players but not for the chiefs team. When I try to recruit new players in world league my ps2 freezes. I deleted those two players and all tournements they were involved in but it still freezes. What should i do? Delete the world league and start again?
