  1. Best place for you to start would probably be on the wing, if your fast, and have a good boot, yet is new to the game, wing allows you to see alot of how the game is played, and you can see a fair bit of ball too.  Advice wise, communication is one of the biggest things, yell out for the ball when your in position to get it.  make sure to present your hands to give the passer a target to aim for.  You need also to communicate when you have more opposition players on your side of the pitch in a ruck situation, so that your team can move players to make tackles.  Tackling, easiest things to remember is your head to their butt cheek, rather than having it inside of their body, where you can get hurt. Tackle low and hard, don't be scared, if you can wrap up their legs at the thighs, then they cannot run and yo have stopped play.  Most of all relax and enjoy the game, get serious of course, but take the time to enjoy it also, hope it helps, and all the best to a fellow rugger

    Cheers

  2. you sound like you would probably play halfback or maybe you could play wing, and chill out i'm sure you'll make the team.
