  1. Hey howz it going?

Any how a hitup is when you take the ball up to the line and get either tackled or subdued when you still have the ball. Mostly forwards get this stat but any player including the backline players can still get this stat added in the game.

Any way take it easy and I hope this helped you get the answer you wanted.

  2. its basically a straightforward run into the defence without much fancy stuff going on

  3. If I have the ball and you tackle me Ive had one hit up and you have made one tackle.

  4. I am also confused about this. I didn't fink dummy half runs counted. The backs r on the field the hole game and get tackled just as much as the forwards yet they never have any hit ups next 2 there name.

  5. i dunno

  6. Its the 1st receiver to hit the line in each tackle.

Mostly forwards however it can be a back or the dummy half.

You see wingers coming in to take the ball out of dummy half or 1st receiver & hit the line.

    That's a hit up.

The old days the used to call it on the burst.

  7. its what Nathan Hindmarsh does behind play when the umpire is not watching

  8. Hi, I don't think you'll see a hit up in the rules.

It's just a stat that has come about as a way of weighing up work load during a game.

Simply, a hit up is when a player takes the ball from the dummy half (or is the dummy half) and takes the ball to the line.  Mostly a forwards stat, because the forwards are usually the ones doing the hard work early in the count to get the team moving forward - but backs will also get the stat against their name if they take the ball up.
