I dont know why everyone puts thurston up there... he isnt in the same mix as the other 2 but anyway.. andrew johns.. as much as i dont like the guy... he was good at what he did...

i personally think lockyer is best (being a bronco fan) considering the things he's acheived. e.g. winning trinations, premiership, and origin in one year etc..

andrew johns was  also a legend, and thurston is regarded to be the best current player in the game

the question is who's the better player....WHO IS the better player, not WHO WAS the better player, so having said that JT takes the cake hands down, he finished off last season as the best player in the world and currently is still holding that title, Andrew Johns is not the better player or else he wouldnt be retired would he? And lockyer is still recovering and just starting to get bak into it whereas JT came back from two shoulder reconstructions in the Cowboys first game versus Titans (which they lost) and still dominated, scoring 2 or three tries for himself! Right at this moment in the season, Jonathan Thurston is the better player :D hope that answers it!

Im a cain toad and my hero is Lockyer but i must say Johns was the best. He scared the s**+.t out of me every time he got the ball 4 NSW. It was so scary watching it live, im so relieved he is gone. But dats only my opinion

I like all 3, but having seen Andrew Johns when he went to England to play for Warrington, he was incredible, his enthusiasm for the game, the way he got every one motivated, barking orders all over the field, all the back slapping and high fives for simple tasks like tackles, good kicks etc. He gave the club a huge lift and for that reason he will stick in my mind as one of the greats.

I'm not a Warrington fan at all, but seeing a player of his calibre come across and share his enthusiasm and hunger for the game and the lift he gave to all, really stood out for me.

Im a bit bias coz im a broncos supporter but id still say lockyer..

joey was great imo the best half back in the game, but lockyer can play in various positions like 5/8, fullback and even half if he really wanted to. as for JT, hes good too, but not on their level(yet)

Lockyer by far, I know JT has his moments of brilliance but without Matty Bowen he hasnt got to much too offer... Andrew Johns certainly HAD the limelight... but hes gone for the past 2 years, so the better player would go the Locky
