In smaller detail Rugby is a rougher more unpaded version of football. You only have little equipment compared to helmet, shoulder pads, thigh pads, etc. I think that Rugby should be aloud o be played at school or anywhere at that matter. If you play it is just you'r fault if you get hurt because you should just be smart enough to not play. Do you think the same? Should Rugby really be aloud at school and other places?

  1. Of course it should be allowed in schools. There are injuries in rugby as there are in american football, association football and all contact sports.

The amount of padding worn by rugby players allows them to be agile athletes. A rugby player is expected to stay on the pitch for 80 mintues (or spells for forwards/injuries etc.). They will attack (offence) and defend during the game (not have a separate team for each), they will tackle players to halt their progress, not just get themselves in the way of the player with the ball (or without the ball for that matter) by virtue of their huge bulk. And, of course, because they're not carrying around excessive weight and equipment they don't have to stop the game every 2 minutes so the players can have a rest and american supporters can buy more fried food.

  2. rugby is way rougher and football has pads

  3. Rugby, Im on my schools rugby team. Its great better than football but not for the weak. lots of running.

  4. Rugby is played in schools here from the age of 7.

When I started there was no touch rugby, it was straight into full contact.

    I don't think that's a great idea.

Touch for young kids teaches much better skills.

But yeah, of course rugby should be taught in schools.

  5. it is played at most schools and it is a good game

  6. Of course it should be aloud at skool. It toughens up the weaker kids, improves your speed and strength and its the only time you get to nail the **** out of your gym teacher lol.

It isnt your fault if you get injured, the best thing to do is just try anticipate were your tackler is going to hit you and either try to avoid him (duh) or prepare yourself.

Although it is annoying that football players get paid a tonne more than rugby players but rugby isnt as flashy.

Football and rugby players alike are both solid though.

  7. of course it shuld

people only get injured because they dont tackle properly

and lets face it, in football, u cn take ny1 out nywhere on the pitch, without the ball. MONKEYS CAN PLAY THAT!!!!! rugby is a better version, and uses more of your mind. injuries are fewer in rugby, so its better than football.

thats my rant over now :)

it shuld b allowed in schools

    end of

  8. Don't you mean Gridiron, the American style of Rugby.

That's not called Football.  Football is the round ball game

  9. rugby should be played in schools but the government just thinks that everyone is too soft. people need to toughen up (you only need to look at some of the footballers).

  10. I think Rugby SHOULD be aloud at school. Not many people would play it but they could chose to play a hardcore version of football, or just a little game of 2 hand touch.

  11. Absolutely!  We all played rugby at school (boys and girls), it was barefoot and brilliant, nobody broke anything, nobody died!  Of course, this was before the days when bullrush was banned for being too violent - and they wonder why we have an obesity problem with kids now....

  12. well I think that there should be an age limit of no tackling before 12yrs and that it should not be allowed to play if there is no teacher to supervise the game if there is contact.

Rugby is a dangerous sport if those that play do not know how to properly tackle. I played rugby while in high school and a majority of the injuries that I saw were result of unclean tackles.

I would love to see all schools create teams to allow kids enjoy the game I love, but it is one that needs to be supervised because I don't care what anyone says tackling needs to be taught because thats what prevents most injuries

  13. I've been playing rugby for about 8 years and I have accumulated more injuries playing Field Hockey Volleyball and Basketball than I have ever in Rugby.

Rugby is a sport of freak injuries, wrong place at the wrong time, type of thing. Also if you are taught proper rugby than it is a lot safer. Rugby is controlled, yes there are exceptions, but it is controlled. You are taught how to tackle, take a tackle etc. to prevent injury to you and/or ur opponent.

I know that rugby now is in some US high school and there are many U-19 clubs. Give it a couple more years and it will be in a lot more.

  14. soccer is boring, rugby is way better

  15. It is played in schools in the UK, or was when I was there

  16. american football belongs in the circus
