Rugby Shorts?

Question

started taking up rugby, just wondered whats best to wear under rugby shorts, boxers or normal briefs.

I know the shorts are quite short, but just concerned that if you have white shorts, do the become see through.???

Having been a rugby player for many years, I too came across this problem. In my opinion, the best thing to wear underneath is bicycle shorts (as many of the professionals do). It prevents friction burn on the legs and can help you from getting raked with boots on your thighs.

And no, rugby shorts are so thick that they cannot become see through, anyway, they are most likely covered in mud all the time so noone could see a thing.

hey, as the rest have said undies (briefs) are the best choice. I also use ski pants or cycling pants to avoid getting hurt on my thighs when some one is racking and it is also better for when ur getting picked up in the line outs. yes rugby shorts are really small but there really thick so u don't have to worry about people seeing your ding-a-ling. anyway what u worried about your all men anyway.

Of the 2 options definatly briefs - that will save old dingly dangler falling out a leg.

The best thing though are sports under shorts. They are lycra under shorts that have a bit of padding on the thighs and hips and are designed for contact sports.

if you are wearing proper rugby shorts (100% Cotton) then there's no way on earth they should be see through.

and the best thing to wear under your shorts to stop you bits getting yanked off is cycling shorts. they cost about £10 but there worth it. keeps you worm and safe

Definitely briefs...but you'll also find a lot of players like to also wear tights under their shorts for a number of reasons including additional protection, support, security & also as you mentioned ~ where shorts can become wet & see through.
