ok so pardon my confusion, ive played rugby for 4 years and just recently watched the 3 matches at the Churchill cup, but i dont get this rugby union and league difference?

are the NZ all blacks a league, but they are one of the best teams? could it be that ive never seen a league match because every one ive seen has rucking, mauls and all full on contact.... someone please help explain!

  1. the nz all blacks are not a league fkin h**l

  2. it sounds like you have never seen a league match

the New Zealand All Blacks are Union ... the New Zealand Rugby League team are nicknamed the Kiwi's

and the churchill cup is a union tournament

in League there are no rucks or mauls, or lineouts, and the scrums are uncontested, in fact, it's a bit boring

basically, the basics of league are, that when a player is tackled, the plays stops, the player stands up, rolls the ball behind him, and a team mate will pick it up and play restarts

you are only allowed 6 tackles before you have to hand over the ball

in league there are only 13 players to a team

    here are some basics
