Rugby Update: All Blacks Dominating 2010
The All Blacks are in a striking form just before the World Cup is about to kick off in a few months. All Blacks have won 13 out of 14 tests this year. A quarter of million dollar bet has been placed by a punter for All Blacks to win this world cup. According
to their official website, a Ladbrokes client has placed 100,000 dollars on All Blacks winning 2011’s World Cup. As ever, the Tri Nations countries are leading the way, and All Blacks are blazing even more than before.
The year 2010 also belonged to the All Blacks as they claimed the Tri Nations title in July. The New Zealand National team won six out of six matches effortlessly. Richie McCaw, the captain All Blacks has been named as the International Rugby Union Player
of the Year for the third time now and the coach Henry is voted as the Coach of the Year 2010.
The only match that All Blacks lost was against Australia in Hong Kong by 26-24. All Blacks scored 495 points and 59 tries this year with an average of 35.3 points a match. New Zealand has a patchy record in World Cup, but this year probably not even the
best can stop the All Blacks. The pressure on them will be huge but the team has a reputation of executing their skills well in pressure.
Daniel Carter, Blacks’ fly-half who just crossed Wilkinson as the leading point scorer in test matches and Richie McCaw the flanker, are reckoned to be the best players in the world. Sonny Bill Williams is an excellent offload to the midfield and a stunning
player. “We're in a pretty good place,” Henry said
On the other hand, the defending champions South Africa had an outrageous year. They came down to number three on the charts. South Africa lost five matches out of six played in Tri Nations. Australia seems to be the only tough team after New Zealand this
year. After winning the six Nations and being the only team to defeat All Blacks this year, is looking forward to name 2011 as theirs. Australia scored 59-16 against France at the Six Nations and made it the most eye catching tournaments of the year 2010.
Out of all the European teams, the only team in 2010 to make largest strides forward was England. England struggled in Six Nations but finished third. Martin Johnson, the English team manager was very proud when England defeated Australia away by 21-20 in
Tri Nations. Similarly, in August, England repeated the act and this time took over the Wallabies by 35-18 at Twickenham. France on the other hand had a successful Six Nations by winning five out of six matches, but 2010 ended by a defeat from Wallabies in
Paris. France’s coach, Marc Lievremont is under the pressure yet again.
Considering the new seven circuits, the world champion was surprisingly Samoa after their splendid performance. Mikaele Pesamino from Samoa was named as the IRB Sevens player of the year.
All Blacks do have a history of choking in the world cup but the gamblers this year only want to put in their money for New Zealand. Last time New Zealand won the world cup, it was their home soil. This year the hopes are even higher. Alex Donohue, the owner
of Ladbrokes explains the situation according to his frame of reference, “The All Blacks have a patchy World Cup record but somebody with a lot of cash clearly thinks they’re ready to come good next year.”
The odds for betting actually depend on the International Rugby Board ranking and the most favourite teams are always from Tri Nations. France and England stand at fifth and fourth positions to win. An immense amount of money is being reported to be wagered
on New Zealand’s All Blacks. According to the latest Ladbrokes Word Cup odds, the top five stand like this,
All Blacks             4/5
Australia              3/1
South Africa         6/1
France                11/1
England               12/1
