The Saracens, who are currently enjoying 5th position in the Aviva Premiership table, have yesterday announced that Brendan Venter the current Director of Rugby will step down from this position to take on the new responsibility
of Technical Director after the 9th of January, 2011.
Mark McCall, who is currently the first team Coach, will become the Director of Rugby with Andy Farrell taking his place as the new first team Coach for the club.
Chairman of Saracens rugby club, Nigel Wray also confirmed the news and said Venter and his family is going back to their native country South Africa due to some family reasons and he will not be able to work full time with the
club, thus the change in directorship and his move to being Technical Director. He will visit the club regularly and will guide the team.
Moreover, Wray said, he is pretty sure that this decision will not affect the club’s performance and the club will continue its winning streak.
"The track, solidity and stability of the club are unaffected, and we will maintain our joint hunt to be successful on and off the field, striving to win championships in England and Europe, working hard for our players and staff,
their families, our supporters and the broader community.”
Wray also paid tribute to Venter for his services to the club and said, his contribution to the club were outstanding and he was the person who created a culture of sincerity and discipline in the club and the club will definitely
miss his services. He converted the team into a winning side.
Wray also spoke about Mark McCall who will be the new Director of Rugby. He said the club is really pleased to assign him as a replacement for Brendan Venter. He has huge working experience with club and he is a capable man to
work as Director of Rugby.
Undoubtedly Venter contributed considerably to the club and the Saracens current performance is also good. The Club has played a total of 9 matches in the season and has won 6 out of those. It is hoped the club will continue its
same marvelous performance under the new team management as well.
