Rugby Update: Scotland to not taking any risk against Samoa
Scotland, who got their most famous victory over Springboks last Saturday, doesn’t want to take any risk against a bit weaker side Samoa. They have announced a powerful side for this Saturday’s match.
People’s expectations from the Scottish team are high after their last win and the team wants to meet their expectations by winning the match against Samoa.
Scotland has made few changes in their team, which played against Springboks last Saturday. They have selected Richie Vernon in the team as the replacement of their star player Scott Macleod, who faced a rib injury during the match against world champions
and still not fit for the match against Samoa.
Allan Jacobsen, who was out from rugby due to injury, has recovered now and selected in the team again. Mike Blair will leave the position for him. Match against Samoa will be the 50th international test match of Jacobsen.
It will be the 50th appearance of wing Sean Lamont too, when he will enter in the field on Saturday. Jacobsen and Lamont will be the 29th and 30th Scottish players to reach 50 caps for Scotland.
Scotland’s head coach Andy Robinson spoke to media and said, although both Jacobsen and Lamont faced injuries many time in their career but both are determinant players. Scotland has need of them in the match against Samoa and he is happy that both are fit
for the game.
Robinson further said, he know that Scottish people are very happy by their win over world champions but that game is over now and his team is looking positively for the next match against Samoa.
He added; he knows that Samoa is a physically very strong team and can show you what they are on their day but his team is very confident after the win against Springboks too.
On the other hand, Samoa, who has already lost from England and Ireland in their opening two matches of their current tour of Northern Hampshire, will look to end their tour with a win. But Aberdeen weather is a big problem for Samoa. It is very cold out
there in Aberdeen and their today’s practice session is badly affected by snow fall.
Samoa’s head coach Fuimaono Tafua said, some of their players saw snow fall first time in their life and playing in such cold weather will be a difficult task for players but he is pretty sure that they will adjust, as they still have time to practice under
cold weather conditions.
Samoa has also made one change in their final 15, which was beaten by England with the score of 26-13 last Saturday at Twickenham stadium London.
Census Johnston has made his return at the position of tighthead prop and Anthony Perenise is sent back to replacement players.
Samoa has also made one change in their replacement players and included Daniel Leo instead of George Williams, who is injured.
Although, Samoa is being consider as weaker team than Scotland but that will be the performance on the match day, which will tell, which team was better on that say.
