Rugby Update: South Africa to put everything against England- Zane Kirchner
South Africa’s team is under huge amount of pressure after their unexpected defeat against Scotland with the score of 21-17 last Saturday.
Their defeat has sent them back to number 3 position in International Rugby Board’s ratings. They were holding the number 2 position before the match. This unexpected defeat of world champions against Scotland has badly affected their preparations for coming
year world cup in New Zealand too.
South Africa is now going to face England in their final match of the Northern Hampshire tour and after their defeat against a weaker side; the value of match has increased for South Africa. They should try to bring cheers back on their fans faces, which
are gloomy after the defeat.
If South Africa succeeds to win against England, it will also help them to enhance their confidence and team will start their preparations for world cup with a new spirit.
Along with fans, South Africa’s players are also anxiously waiting for Saturday when they will play against England. They are ready to put their 100% in the game so they could get back their number 2 position back.
South Africa’s full back Zane Kirchner, who will be playing against England first time in his international career, said yes his team is very excited for the match and ready for their 7th consecutive win against them. Remember, England has not
beaten South Africa since 2006.
Kirchner said, he is very unlucky that he never get chance to play against England. But now it is like a dream come true for him. It is a huge moment and a very important game in his career. He will put his 100% in the game and wants to get success. He
wants to leave a huge impact, he added.
Although, Kirchner, who is now an integral part of South Africa’s final 15, has not played any match against England but he has experience of playing against many of English players, as his international debut came in the match against British and Irish
Lions in their last year’s tour.
Kirchner, who has scored 55 points in super rugby, has only scored one for South Africa. That was came again Italy. Kirchner said, his team’s win is more important for him than his personal score.
"It is all about the team and if I play my part and we win, that's the most important thing. But yes, I need to improve and keep adding to my game because you can't stand still in this team. The execution needs to be spot on, not just by me but by everyone.
All the test countries are improving and defenses are getting better."
On the other hand, England, who has won their 3 matches out of last 4 matches they played, will be full of confidence. They beat 2 times to Wallabies and 1 time to Samoa. They only lost to number 1 team All Blacks but played well in that match too.
Kirchner also spoke about England team and said; no doubt, they are a change team now and improved a lot. They have strong player at midfield and their pack is also strong. Their back row players play really fast rugby. After watching their performance in
last one year, he can say that the match will be really a crucial one, Kirchner added.
That was really a cold day in Edinburg last week and there were snowfall as well when South Africa lost to Scotland and now forecast is same for the match day in London.
Kirchner said, most of the South Africa’s players had no experience of playing under snowfall and this thing went against South Africa in the match against Scotland.
Now, South Africa had few practice session under cold weather of London and they are hopeful that even cold weather of London would not create obstacle in the way of their win.
