Rugby Update: Springboks’ whole management is at stake- d**k Muir
Everyone is accusing Springboks’ poor match planning from management, as the reason of their below to the mark performance in the recent past. This has put Springboks’ whole management under huge amount of pressure now days.
Springboks are going to play against England at Twickenham stadium, London, on coming Saturday and it will be their last match of this current tour of Northern Hampshire. There are news that this match against England will be the last chance for whole management
to prove their ability and remain at the position they are currently holding.
The world champions South Africa’s performance is not satisfactory from last 1 year. They were stood on last position in the recently ended Tri Nations tournament. They also lost from a weaker team Scotland on last Saturday, which made it clearer that whole
management is at stake.
Although Springboks have won two matches during this month but both victories were against easier target Ireland and Wales. They won both the matches with a very little margin, thus these victories were not very convincing.
Springboks backline coach d**k Muir also confirmed the news that if they lost against England then whole management will be removed.
Muir said, South African rugby fans only expect win from you and if you don’t win then you should be sacked from your position. Coaching is a type of job, which is always at stake. If you don’t perform well in a series, you will be sacked, regardless of
whether you have brilliant record in the past, he added.
Muir’s performance is not going well. Springboks have not been able to win most of matches under his coaching. He was also coach of Lions in the Super 14 tournament, who lost their all the matches of the season.
Muir said, if you want to succeed as a coach then you should believe in yourself, believe in your management and should have a clear vision but unfortunately, the whole management is missing these all things. He said Springboks need a clear thinking.
While speaking about the match against England, Muir said undoubtedly the match against England will be the toughest match of the season and he wants to bring smile back on fans’ faces, by winning that match, who were gloomy after the defeat against Scotland.
Muir also spoke about England’s manager Martin Johnson and England’s team and said,
"Martin Johnson has had to go through some harsh times but hats off to him for sticking to what he has. He has introduced some very exciting young players. The balance they have is good. It will be a huge challenge for us. It has been a wake-up week
for us after not getting the result against Scotland. England is really playing good rugby and we have got to have our wits about us.”
“We are a proud nation and we are not proud of what happened at the weekend. We have to face up to the facts that we did not deliver and fortunately we have another week to be able to redeem ourselves."
Although Boks are missing many star players but still they have huge list of talented players with them. Their poor game plan is the biggest reason of their bad performance. If they able to fix their problem and play with a proper planning in the match against
England, then no doubt they can thrash them.
