Rugby World Cup 2007 question???

I was just looking at the fixtures for the Rugby World Cup 2007 and saw a team called Repechage 1. Who or What is this team???

repechage is not a team ....it is a french pronounced re-pe-chage meaning to rescue or save. It is similar to a wild card for teams that are the best of the teams that narrowly miss out of advancing thru the tournament and are given a second cahnce ....in this world cup there will be Repechage 1 and 2

Portugal and Uruguay still have to play for this final place in Pool C.

Portugal lead from the first leg 7-0. It will be their first World Cup appearance if they qualify.

Repechage means that Portugal and Uruguay, who have both beaten by teams in qualifying for the World Cup, have another go at qualifying. Basically lucky loser.

Repechage is a second chance to qualify for the countries who almost but didn't qualify from their continent.  Portugal beat Morocco.  So they will play Uruguay in two legs and the winner will be the one with the best score.  If Portugal qualify it will be their first world cup, but Uruguay have played in it before.  So when Portugal and Uruguay have finished playing both legs, and a winner is declared instead of Repechage it will say the countries name.
