  1. The goal is on the tryline

  2. Well, normally Rugby League fields are 68 metres wide (from one side to the other), however fields can legally be a little different to this. But 68m is the regular width for NRL games. Of course, there is 100m from goalposts at one end to the goalposts at the other end

The goal posts are (I think) 5.5 metres apart, meaning there is about 31 metres from each sideline to the outside of the posts (this is not taking into account the large foam pads the put on the posts for safety resons).

Not sure if you need it, but the in-goal area (from the tryline/goalposts to the dead-ball line) can be anywhere from 6 - 11 metres.

(Having said this, a few years ago New Zealand made a very small field for the Tri-Nations in an attempt to counter Australia's passing and kicking game, making the field only 61m wide and the in goal very small (might have been only 5 metres at a guess))
