  1. 1 is full back

    2 + 5 wingers

    3+4 centres

    6 stand off

    7 scrum half

    9 hooker

    8+10 prop forwards

    11+12 2nd row forwards

    13 loose forward

although in the modern day squad numbers are used which sometmes have no bearing on positions, a stand off can wear 14 for example and a centre can wear 13!

as for the dimensions, not much different to fottball(soccer) or rugby union usually something along the lines of 100 x 80 metres

    hope this helps

  2. Backs - 1 = Fullback, 2/5 = Wingers, 3/4 = Cente Threequarters, 6 = Standoff (never 1st Five, thats Rugby Union), 7 = Halfback.

Forwards - 9 = Hooker (sometimes called Rake, but not used much any more) 10/8 = Props, 11/12 = Second Row, 13 = Loose Forward.

  3. The position names are

    1  Full Back

    2  Right Wing Threequarter

    3  Right Center Threequarter

    4  Left Center Threequarter

    5  Left Wing Threequarter

    6  Stand-off or Five-eighth

    7  Scrum Half

    8  Prop

    9  Hooker

    10 Front Row Forward

    11 Second Row Forward

    12 Second Row Forward

    13 Lock Forward

    [1] p9, [2] p9.

The 'Scrum Half' is sometimes called the 'Half Back'.

The dimensions of the pitch are:

For Australia, as all grounds are the same size for the NRL:

    68 metres wide,

116 metres long.  This includes two 8 metre in-goal areas at both ends of the 100 metre field. [1] p2

    For England and others:

    68 metres wide.

112-122 metres long.  The in-goal area can vary from a inimum 6 metres to a maximum of 11 metres.  The variance is allowed, as grounds have different sizes, and some are soccer (football) grounds and do not have the space for the in-goal area. [2] p2

  4. Not sure but a Rugby League's pitch is longer but not as wide as a Rugby Union's pitch.
