  1. Second rows (4 and 5) or locks - Cleaning in a ruck, standoff's from a ruck, jumping 2 and 4 in a line out and receiving a balls from the kickoff. Support the scrum and front row in a scrum.

Flankers (6 and 7) - Getting first at the ball after a tackle - Bridge, clean or steal the ball. Cross defense from the line outs (against back line). Jumping 6 (back in a line out). Receiving balls from the kickoff that goes over the locks head. Tackling the scrumhalf and back line from a scrum. Standoffs from short line outs.

Eight man (8) - Same as flankers. Except he supports the scrum from the back, can also pick up a ball from the end of a scrum. Stand last in a full line out

    Ideal line out: 2    1 4 3 5 6 7 8

    Ideal scrum:   1 2 3

                          6 4 5 7
