  1. Got an ipod?  Get some chilled beats on.

I used to get real nervous when I first started playing. In fact that was the first time I ever got nervous. Every Saturday morning. Nothing would fix it until kick off. . . except a group of musical geniuses know as The Electric Light Orchestra, or (ELO for the experts)  . . . find today's musical equivalents and you'll be sweet as.

Edit: LDT17 yep . . . sounded like a stupid answer, you ever been nervous ?  It's pretty fcuking far from just relaxing.

  2. Dont worry about what you might mess up. It is good to be nervouse. worry when you are not nervouse. Dont think about trying to impress anyone. Just play because you love the game.  Eat some good food for dinner, i recomment pasta it will give you a lot of energy, and get a good nights sleep. Dont psyche your self out. You will be fine. just have fun.

  3. Being a bit nervous is good, but don't tuck your tail.... walk tall and confident out on the pitch, and your playing ability will take care of itself.

Bit of advice: get there early, get kitted up, and then start warming up. Jump rope, do some agility drills to loosen up and get a sweat going. It'll probably rattle your fellow ruggers to see you getting prepped while they're just strapping on their boots.

Give 'em h**l and don't slow down! 100 miles an hour like a 10 ton giant!

  4. listen im the captain of a rugby team just go there give it ya best shot make a few tackles and some good runs and just show them ur serious about it  hope this helped

  5. To be honest, being a bit nervous is a good thing, being nervous heightens your awareness and physical reactions.

But like all things it's only good in moderation. So make sure you focus all that nervous energy into making that first big hit to set the tone for the game, instead of seeing it as a bad thing use it to help you.

An example of someone who gets really nervous before he plays his sport, Tiger Woods. He admitted he suffers from terrible nerves but he uses them to his advantage.

  6. This might sound like a stupid answer, but just relax and remember why you're trying out, because you love the sport. Just go and enjoy it for the love of the game. :-)
