I got this gun this past saturday, have taken it apart a couple times, used it yesterday, threw a clip in after I was done cleaning, go to take the clip out today and it wont budge. The clip is full, i could get it to slide enough to get the pin out, but the clip still wont budge. I dont see any way to get it to release....any help? Thanks.

  1. Get to the Ruger Web Site and see what they recomend. If you try forcing it you could do more damage and possibly blow your hand off.

  2.   If I was you I would take it to a gunsmith.  Do not try to fix it on your own. It may missfire.  I am not familiar with the Ruger, but if it was a weapon that I owned I would take it to someone with training.

  3. the last viking gave you the best advice, the $20-$40 you'd spend to have a pro take it apart is the safest money you'll spend.

if your comfortable doing your own work (if you were I doubt you'd be asking on how to solve the problem or referring to the magazine as a clip)  I'd start by disassembling the mag and release the pressure on the bottom of the slide. once the base plate is off and rounds, follower, and spring are removed the body of the mag should fall out.

make sure your lubing properly (no wd40, gun grease and oil designed for firearms only)  I'm not sure about your ruger but the problem your describing can be caused by the main recoil spring being installed backwards if its a non-captive, if its a captive spring the guide rod may be backward or you chambered a bad round at which point go to a gunsmith, getting that round out is very dangerous and unless you know exactly what your doing you may damage your gun and yourself.

and in the future try to be safe and keep live rounds in another room while cleaning and never test for function after cleaning with mag that contains live rounds, any number of things could go wrong, including your current predicament, this would be much simpler and safer to solve with an empty mag.
