Rule The World and Captain Arceus to collide in the I.N.H Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Novice Hurdle
Gathered for the I.N.H Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Novice Hurdle are seven contestants who are five-year-old and above. They will take up the challenge for getting entitled to the €8,970 prize money set aside for the winner of the two mile, six
furlong and 110 yard challenge. The race will be staged at Thurles on Thursday, 22nd November.
One of the most heartwarming entries is the five-year-old bay gelding, Rule The World. The lightly raced entry has been active thrice during the career, striking success twice and scoring second once.
The favourite entry cleared the second division of the Brigthwells 4YO Maiden on 20th November, 2011 at Affane race course over three miles.
The most popular entry of the race had jockey, Derek O’Connor.
Sulmani’s bay gelding had his 2012 season kick started with victory in the Buy Your 2013 Annual Badge Maiden Hurdle on 18th October, 2012 at Punchestown over two miles.
Entered as the favourite, the M. F. Morris trained raced in the second position in the field of fourteen, and became a threat for the leader when the track still had four furlongs to go. Rule The World picked the lead after a furlong and defeated Angelas
Money by thirteen lengths.
The Gigginstown House Stud owned then qualified as the runner-up in the Grade 3 Paddy Power Phone 1800 721 821 European Breeders Fund Novice Hurdle on 4th November, 2012 at Cork race course over three miles.
The race was won by the favourite entry, Our Vinnie, who had jockey, A. E. Lynch, the duo defeated the five-year-old gelding by a head’s mark.
He will get paired up with jockey, Davy Russell.
Another note worthy entry in the field is the six-year-old bay gelding, Captain Arceus, who failed in the most recent race after striking a back-to-back.
The Irish bay gelding won the Easter Festival 8th – 10th April INH Flat Race on 25th February, 2012 at Fairyhouse over two miles.
Captain Rio’s bay gelding then managed the Navan Maiden Hurdle on 29th September, 2012 at Navan race course over two miles.
He defeated the favourite entry, Giant’s Quest, by 7 ½ lengths.
