Does anyone know them or perhaps a website? Because I have a project about a game at school and it's based on Jeopardy. I need to know directions, requirements, and object of the game. Please and Thank you :)

  1. I listed a wikipedia article as my source, it explains it more fully.

There are two rounds played.  Each round has 6 categories with topics -- any topics you can think of, some like History, some like words that begin in 'A'.  Each category has five questions of different value.  In the first round, one question is worth 200, one is worth 400, etc. up to 1000.  In the second round, they are worth double that amount.  The first category is chosen essentially at random, but from then on whoever last correctly answered a question picks the topic and the amount.

When a category is picked, an answer is read aloud.  Then the three contestants try to "buzz in", first to buzz in gets a shot at coming up with the correct question that fits both the answer and the category (remember how it can be "words that being with 'A'?).  The one who buzzed in then has three seconds to guess the answer.  He only gets one try.  If he's right, he gains that money and picks the next category.  If he's wrong, then he loses that money (even if it gives him negative dollars -- everybody starts at $0), and then the other two people have a chance to buzz in for the same chance.  If the second person is wrong, the third person can still buzz in or not.  There is a time limit after which nobody can buzz in and the host just gives the answer.

Then there's daily doubles.  At random one of the questions in the first round and two in the second round won't really be worth what they say they are worth, but instead are Daily Doubles.  The person who picked the Daily Double has to wager an amount of money (at least $5) any amount up to his current total (If you have negative or at very low dollar amounts it lets you bet up to $1000 in the first round or $2000 in the second round, but that never comes up really).  Then he has to make one guess -- like he's automatically buzzed in.  This time the other two can't buzz in, even if he guesses wrong.

Then after the two rounds there's final jeopardy.  Final jeopardy is a lot like a daily double that all three try for.  Instead of buzzing in they first hear the category, then all secretly write down their wager (this time you can even bet $0 if you are pretty sure you'll never get any question in that category, or if you have more than double the money of the other players so you automatically win no matter what), then they hear the answer, and all secretly write down the question.  They get 15 seconds to write it down while an extremely famous "Jeopardy song" plays.

At the end, whoever has the highest cash amount actually wins that money.  Second and third place get consolation prizes.

If you don't say "what is _____?" or "who is ____?" or otherwise say a question then the host/judges pretend that they didn't hear your response and you'll time out and lose your money.

Whew.  I haven't watched Jeopardy in many years, but it's just such a cultural phenomenon that I can never forget the rules, even the finicky rare ones.

  2. Okay its quite simple. Every question has a different value. Although the questions arent really questions, they are answers and you have to say what the question is. If you get it right you add the value to your points, if you get it wrong you subtract. you try to get the highest total, and then you win. There are also Daily Doubles in which you can risk a amount.
