Rum Punch tipped to succeed in WW Electrical Handicap
Rum Punch is likely to carry her solid form into the WW Electrical Handicap at Folkestone in England on Thursday, August 23, 2012. She is likely to have a trouble free race, as most of her opponents have been struggling for consistency in recent times.
A total of six runners have been attracted towards the class-6 event, which has a cash prize of £1,704 for the winner. There is a chance for Theresnoneedfordat and Sarah Berry to fight for victory today, but they will need a special effort in order to do
so.
The latter of the above two participants has not been able to deliver good results with consistency in her career, but she certainly has the ability to take the top spot. She was victorious in her most recent event, thus the bookmakers have priced her 3
to 1.
However, Rum Punch is enjoying a pretty decent season and it will be difficult for others to stop her from taking the top spot. She has been given a general starting price of 2 to 1 and the punters will definitely be interested in risking a lot of money
on her.
The three-year-old filly has participated in a total of five races, winning one of them. In addition to that, she has finished as a runner up and third on the same number of times, which means that she only dropped out of the top three on a couple of times.
The Eve Johnson Houghton’s trainee debuted in April this year and was unable to make an impression back then. She was not expected to fight for victory and there were no surprises from her at the end of the day, as she ended up 13th overall.
In the second race of her career, the young filly failed to deliver a positive result once again. She suffered because of the soft tracks in her first two outings, but things got better for her with the passage of time.
Rum Punch brought up her maiden victory at Folkestone and finished as a runner up at the same venue in another race. This shows that she has got good memories from this track and will definitely be a top contender for winning today. Her partner will be seasoned
jockey, Eddie Ahern.
